OUR STORY
Storykeepers began in Walpole, Massachusetts, with a simple idea: every life holds a story worth remembering. What started as a local student project has grown into a community effort to interview seniors, preserve their stories, and publish town chapter books distributed to families, COAs, libraries, and historical societies.
Today, we serve 5 towns across Metro West: Franklin, Medfield, Sharon, Walpole, and Wrentham—with over 100 stories preserved and 150+ books distributed.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Too often, seniors' voices fade into the background. But these stories of resilience, migration, family, and love are the threads that hold our communities together.
Storykeepers bridges generations, connecting young people with older adults through conversation and storytelling. We believe that listening deeply is an act of care, and that preserving these memories is a way to fight forgetfulness, both personal and cultural.
Our partnership with the Alzheimer's Association reflects that belief. Memory is fragile, and through Storykeepers, we hope to keep it alive.

MEET THE FOUNDERS
CO-FOUNDER
Aneesa Maity
Hi! I’m Aneesa Maity, a senior at Montrose School from Walpole, MA. My grandparents live in India, so I don't get to see them often. Most of our relationship exists through video calls and quick check-ins, and I've realized how easy it is for their stories to fade when no one takes the time to ask. That's what inspired Storykeepers. We spend so much of our lives rushing that sitting down to really listen feels rare. But when you do, you realize how much you can learn just by being curious. Every senior we've talked to has shared something different: stories of resilience, humor, lessons learned, and moments that shaped who they are.
For me, this project is about connection: giving someone space to be heard and letting their voice live on. Every conversation reminds me that everyone, no matter their age, carries something worth sharing.
CO-FOUNDER
Aaron Arora
Hi! I’m Aaron Arora, a senior at Walpole High School.​ With my grandparents living outside the country, I've often missed the chance to connect with them in person. This project gives me an opportunity to bridge that gap: to sit down face-to-face with older adults, listen to their stories, and appreciate the richness of their experiences. I started Storykeepers because I realized how often we overlook the voices of older generations. Each story I've heard has shown me that their experiences aren't just memories—they're lessons, insights, and pieces of history that deserve to be shared.
To me, Storykeepers is about connection. It's about curiosity, empathy, and honoring the people who helped shape the world we live in today. Sharing stories builds understanding across generations and ensures that the experiences, lessons, and laughter of those before us continue to inspire the future.
