About Us
OUR STORY
Storykeepers began in Walpole, Massachusetts, with a simple idea: every life holds a story worth remembering. What started as a local student project has grown into a community effort to record, preserve, and celebrate the stories of senior citizens across towns.
It began with interviews, where high school students sat down to listen. Those stories became keepsake books, and now, a growing digital archive that honors the lives and voices of our senior community members.

Each story we collect reminds us how powerful it is to take the time to ask, listen, and remember.
MISSION & VISION
Our mission is to honor the richness of every life by preserving the stories of senior citizens through conversation, writing, and digital archiving.
We envision a world where no story goes untold — where every generation recognizes the value of those who came before and understands how their memories shape our shared future.
WHY IT MATTERS
Too often, seniors’ voices fade into the background. But these stories of resilience, migration, family, and love are the threads that hold our communities together.
Storykeepers bridges generations, connecting young people with older adults through conversation and storytelling. We believe that listening deeply is an act of care, and that preserving these memories is a way to fight forgetfulness, both personal and cultural.

Our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association reflects that belief. Memory is fragile, and through Storykeepers, we hope to keep it alive.

WHAT WE DO
-
Interviews: Students meet with local seniors to record their stories and reflections.
-
Archiving: Stories are transcribed, edited, and added to our growing digital collection.
-
Publishing: Each town receives a memory book and access to this online archive, ensuring stories remain preserved and accessible for families and communities.
LOOKING AHEAD
As Storykeepers grows, we aim to launch new chapters in towns across Massachusetts and beyond. Our hope is that students everywhere can experience the same joy and perspective that comes from truly listening and that seniors everywhere can see their lives reflected, remembered, and celebrated.
Together, we can build a culture that values memory, empathy, and connection — one story at a time.
